As a Data Analyst you will:

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of results of the credit union's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
  • Work with multiple groups to define key reporting metrics, identify current database sources, assess the status of existing reporting capabilities and work with teams on go forward solutions, including documentation.
  • Analyze business procedures and recommend specific types of data that can be used to improve upon them.
  • Review and audit both scheduled and ad-hoc reports to ensure that they are accurate, clear, timely, concise and user-friendly.
  • Maintain a change management process to ensure proper tracking of reporting changes.
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools and concepts to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management in order to drive business results.
  • Manage the production of periodic daily, weekly, and monthly reports as well as ad-hoc reports to ensure timeliness, accuracy and appropriate presentation of data.
  • Monitor and review report requests from end users in order to fully understand their needs, prioritize requests as appropriate, and make recommendations that will enhance the end user experience.

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required with a major in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or business.
  • Ability to independently research, resolve, and support transactions and account balances.
  • At least 1 year experience in a similar or related field.
  • Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for providing great service and projecting a positive image as representative for the organization. Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments.
  • Requires sound and accurate judgment. Displays a willingness to make decisions in a timely manner, usually within established guidelines. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and can support and explain reasoning for decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.  Familiarity with data query/data management tools preferred (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
